I seek

the light

within

a word

well written

in the shadow

of the now

distant

past

tense

written

long ago 

on the rotting

wood

would

have

but did not

it splinters my mind

with the thought that the end of the stories

are now sooner

than those first

tender

lines

words

spoken softly

so

long
