than a rhinoceros
hovering
weightless
above
my mind space clouds
The elephant
in the room
disregarded
like a thirty year old
Ikea bookshelf
it bows
to its obligations
waiting
for the day to come
when that next best thing
saddles up against the horsehair plaster
in a proud display
of power
Question is
which will give first
tired and strained
particle
board
or
the willingness
to make change
come through the door?
So I keep
close company
with the rhinoceros
while he watches
and
we
wait
the splintering

of time
collapsing
